At Aspendale Primary School:
Our Vision, Learning For Life, ensures that every student is equipped with the transferable knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing and globally connected world.
Our Mission is to provide a high quality, supportive and engaging learning program which builds the academic, social and emotional capacity of every student at Aspendale Primary School. We provide opportunities for our students to develop understandings of essential concepts, skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to be life-long learners in our ever changing world.
Our Core Values of Passion, Respect, Integrity, Commitment and Empathy guide how we teach, learn and interact at Aspendale Primary School.
The 523 Aspendale Primary school students benefit from spacious playing fields, including a new Year 2-6 playground, a Friendship Garden, vegetable garden, a well grassed oval, an artificially turfed active play area in the junior play area (with ball courts, chess board, hopscotch) as well as a large artificially turfed Courtyard, complete with outdoor furnishings, in the heart of the school. Our students benefit from flexible teaching spaces across the school surrounded by an outdoor decked learning area.
Aspendale Primary School’s Specialist Program includes Physical Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Language (Mandarin), and Individual Needs, as well as a vast array of Curriculum Enrichment programs. Music tuition in the areas of singing, violin, keyboard, brass, drum and guitar is available for all students. The school is also proud of its talented Performance Choir and Performance Band who perform weekly at assemblies, for special events and in the local community
Active parent participation has long been a feature of the school. An Outside School Hours Care program is conducted on site and is well utilised by the school community.
Community Events are facilitated by a School Council committee, via a Council parent member/convenor and Council staff member, and are very proactive in planning whole school events.
Aspendale Primary is a values-based school, where every opportunity is taken to embed our values, both in formal activities as well as informally, in the way we interact with each other and conduct ourselves each day.
Students learn in a personalised, caring and stimulating environment. Staff at Aspendale Primary School have a proactive approach to student wellbeing with social skills and our school values integrated into the classroom program.
We aim to provide a high quality teaching and learning program which develops students academically, socially and emotionally
